Chamber musician, teacher, and clinician, Jose Garcia Taborda, is an active performer around Latin America, the United States, Europe, and Asia. Garcia-Taborda has served for twelve years as a clarinet faculty member in different renowned universities in the United States, such as in the School of Performing Arts at Virginia Tech University, and in various institutions in Colombia, such as IberAcademy, EAFIT University, and Bellas Artes University Foundation. As a guest artist, Mr. Garcia Taborda has taught and performed around the world. Among his tours, he has visited Panamá, Colombia, Argentina, Brasil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Spain, and many cities across the United States.

Currently, Mr. García-Taborda is a professor of clarinet at Madison Conservatory (WI, USA), visiting professor of music in clarinet and Chamber Music at EAFIT University (Medellín. Col), and Guest teacher at the Ibero-American Philharmonic Academy.

He has also performed extensively with the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra and the EAFIT Symphony Orchestra. Garcia Taborda is the founder of numerous chamber ensembles in Colombia and the USA, such as Orduz-Garcia Duo, Anari Ensemble, and Underground Chamber Collective, Medellín Clarinet Quartet. His recordings include works by Victor Agudelo, Roberto Pineda Duque, many orchestra collaborations, and the album Portraits of Colombia with Orduz-Garcia Duo, all of them with excellent comments from specialized critics.

Mr. Garcia-Taborda is an LRSM from ABRSM – London, holds a master’s degree from EAFIT University, where he studied with the eminent Colombian soloist Javier Asdrúbal Vinasco, and also holds an Artist Diploma from Duquesne University with Ron Samuels from Pittsburgh Symphony.

Garcia-Taborda is an exclusive artist of Yamaha USA, as well as a BG France and Légère Canada International performing Artist.
